Lately it happens more and more often that members ask me if they can stay at my home and even though, my answer is immediate, or never reply again, or they say they have already found another place.
As this situation was repeated recently with a request that came folded by the man and by the woman at the same time, I told them that it did not seem right if they did not intend to stay in my house why they requested it? The only thing that happened was that they made me waste my time.
Their answer was that on the part of the portal they have been recommend to make 15 requests at a time. I was amazed!!
I do not know if this reason given to me is correct or not but honestly if so, it seems to me that we are on the wrong way.
HOME EXCHANGE and us, we are not an AIRBNB, even, many of us work in their beginnings with them and leave them precisely because both the tenants and the portal itself have lost the sense of solidarity that they had at the beginning and have become a pure business where the lack of respect prevails
Requests for accommodation should be made one by one with respect and with the rule to respond in 3 days is enough for us to decide, so we will keep that spirit of sharing and solidarity and if HOME EXCHANGE loses this sense of solidarity we are lost
Therefore I would like to know if it has happened to many of you as well and also submit my disagreement with this rule. What do you think?
Thanks a lot
Thank you for your suggestions and thoughts. You had posted in the Spanish Forum, however as your post is in English I have moved it across to the English Forum. I hope this is ok, and please do feel free to post again in the Spanish Forum, however in Spanish so all on there can read it. Indeed HomeExchange is not similar to Airbnb and other booking sites. It can take time however for new members to get to grips with how the platform works and it is our job as the more experienced members to educate them (gently) in the way that HomeExchange works. It is important to remember that we were all newbies once ![]()
