🎤 🏠 Open Mic – Long-Term Exchanges (1 month or more)

Hi everyone, we are a couple from Berlin who can both work remotely. We are interested in long-term reciprocal exchanges (one month or more).

  • Our preferred destinations - Vienna, Rome, Bologna, Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam, Lisbon, London would be great, though we are open to suggestions.

  • We are two people, however, our friends may also visit us, so it would be great to have two bedrooms

  • We are quite flexible about our dates

Here is the link from our place in Berlin: HomeExchange - World's #1 Home Swap Platform

I have a lovely place in south Spain that is available for longer exchanges in December and January. And later.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Hello from Barcelona! :beach_with_umbrella:

Here we are again looking for a summer exchange for 2026.

We are slow travellers and like to do long exchanges in summer. 4-5 weeks between July and August. #reciprocalsim #nopoints

We are looking only in Europe this year. Open to larger or smaller cities that are walkable and bikeable with access to nearby amenities and nature.

We live in a family-friendly neighborhood :family_man_woman_girl_boy:.

Our previous exchanges have appreciated that our home is in a local and quiet area , away from the main tourist spots, yet offering everything you need daily and great transportation to downtown (all mode of transport within 5 to 8 minutes).

:round_pushpin: Easy access to Barcelona’s main attractions and more. Just to name a few: Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell , Las Ramblas, Montjuïc, Picasso Museum, Miró Museum, Tibidabo Amusement Park , Hospital de Sant Pau , Gothic Quarter, Montserrat Monastery .

:automobile:Direct highway access, perfect for exploring Barcelona & Catalonia.

:airplane: The airport is easily reachable by regular bus, and the main train station is just 20 minutes away via a direct metro line.

Hello, i am woman living and working in the center of Paris. I currently live in a 20 sqm studio located in Le marais. The area is lively and touristy, yet calm and pleasant at the same time.

I’m a calm person, ,i’m looking to exchange my apartment for a place in New York City starting from February for a minimum stay of one month and i ll be alone.
Since I’m only interested in NYC, I decided to post directly on this forum.

Thank you

Welcome to the Forum  Have you tried do a reverse search? It is very handy to find members in a specific area who want to come to your area. https://help.homeexchange.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000730557-What-is-reverse-search-and-how-do-I-use-it

My parents (retirees in their 70s) are thinking of spending 1-2 months abroad during the European Spring or Autmunn. They can offer their house with garden in Costa Brava (the Northern coast of Catalonia, Spain).

In this link you can check part of the house (as we currently exchange a little independent apartment in the basement of their house) but they would offer their whole house (4 bedrooms ,.garden, parking, 5min by car from beaches)

They are open to listening suggestions!

Anna have you found someone? Where in Ireland are you? Can you post your home link?

Thx

Anna

Hi F., haven’t seen this. Happy New Year! Please get in touch if you are still interested.

We are on boarders of Waterford and Cork. Rural area 15 minutes to the beach by car.

Hello everyone!

My partner, son, and I are based in Melbourne and looking to swap homes for 1+ months somewhere in (or close to) London (UK), or Washington DC (USA). We have family in both locations so would love to spend extended time in either.

What we’re offering: We have a beautiful 3-bedroom house 30 mins from Melbourne CBD with good transport options:

What we’re looking for:

  • 2-3 bedroom house or apartment

  • Must be somewhere within / close to; London, UK; Washington, DC; Reston, VA; Leesburg, VA

  • Ideally toddler / kid friendly (e.g. cot / toys available - not a deal breaker, but preferred)

The details:

  • Two adults and one toddler travelling.

  • Very flexible on timing and terms, but ideally looking within May - October 2026 for anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months.

  • Easy-going, tidy guests who’ll treat your place with care.

Looking forward to connecting!

Hi!
Our duplex in Haute Savoie, France is free for most of April and May and we’re looking for long-term stays only. It could be the perfect fit for your parents if they want a long stay with mountains on their door step.

Here’s the link to our home: Sunny Duplex, center of Saint Gervais

Welcome to the Forum!

We are a family from Ljubljana, Slovenia—two adults (working in academia/cultural sector) and two children aged 12 and 8. We are interested in a long-term reciprocal exchange (from 10 days up to one ot two months) during the summer of 2026 (July or August). We live in a nice and cosy (but not fancy), fully equipped three-bedroom apartment, located a 5-minute drive or a half-hour walk from Ljubljana city centre. We also have two lovely but somewhat needy cats, so it’s important that you are a cat lover—or at least comfortable around them …

Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and a great base for exploring the country, as it is close to the mountains, the coast, and many other attractions.

Please feel free to take a look at our profile, and if an exchange might be of interest to you, we would be happy to hear from you!

We are not very picky about places, so surprise us. We are especially interested in Eastern and Central Europe, UK, Ireland, Italy…

NEW ZEALAND ←→ CENTRAL EUROPE

2027/2028 CHRISTMAS

We are a family from New Zealand wanting to swap with another family from Europe during Christmas 2027/2028 for about 6 weeks: European winter, New Zealand summer. We are 2 adults, 2 kids. Ideally we’d like somewhere in Central Europe from where it’s reasonably easy to travel by train (or plane if need be), and cold enough that there is an actual chance of snow

Having grown up in Europe, we have a lot of old friends/relatives spread across Europe (England, Italy etc), so we’d like to “park up” somewhere for about 6-7 weeks. We’d take shorter trips to visit relatives, and show our kids around some grand old cities of Europe: Budapest, Paris, Prague. Stuff like that.

Our house in Invercargill, in the deep South of New Zealand, has 3 bedrooms, large garden with fruit and even chickens (though we’ll probably give them away before the trip if the other family doesn’t want chickens to take care of). The house is over 100 years old, and we’re quietly renovating it, so it’s cozy but definitely nothing fancy.

December/January weather is usually warm but windy: 15-25 deg C, sun and rain (ie really quite unreliable: hot one day, cold another day). Welcome to Southland summer! Cherries ripen just after Christmas, so January shops are full of fresh stonefruit and beach is good for surfing (though you’ll need a wetsuit).

Our house is near city centre (less than 10min walk), so getting around Invercargill is easy. However to get out of the city you really need a car: public transport is almost non-existent in New Zealand.

Surf beach: 10min drive. Shallow beach for kids: 30min drive (Riverton Taramea Bay). Queenstown: 2.5h drive. Catlins: 1.5h drive. Stewart Island: 1h ferry from Bluff. Milford Sound: 4h drive.

Having only just joined HE and trip being almost 2 years away, we are in no rush. Will be looking for a swap that we feel is a good fit. Reciprocal changes only - we haven’t got any points yet.

Please do share your listing link so that potential exchangers can see

We are a family with two children aged 14 and 15, and we are looking for a school year exchange in Ireland or England. We live in Barcelona. If you feel like embarking on this adventure, please get in touch with us.

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

My name is Leen and I’m quite new to HomeExchange. I recently put my home online and I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to explore long-term exchanges.

Location of my home:

Belgium – northern Limburg, close to the Dutch border, in a green and quiet area.

Hosting capacity:

Up to 8 people (6 fixed beds + 2 air mattresses).

Dates & length of stay:

My home is available from April onwards, year-round, and I’m open to long-term stays (1 month or more). I travel with Johan, and since we both have our own homes, this gives us extra flexibility.

About us & our project:

We’re slowly working towards our dream of making a road trip through Australia, and HomeExchange feels like a wonderful way to discover new places and connect with people along the way.
