What’s the destination you would never have visited without HomeExchange?

If you’re a HomeExchange member, it’s probably already happened to you: one day, you receive an exchange request from a member who lives in a city or town you’d never heard of.

You don’t know anything about the town or region, but something about the listing and the member attracts you: the tone used in the request, the charm that draws you in from the photos… In short, you accept the request and… the adventure begins!

So, what’s the city or town you’ve never been to before that you’ve enjoyed discovering on HomeExchange? :hugs:

Taiwan! It is a country I never would’ve thought to visit – but we were invited to do a reciprocal exchange, and we absolutely loved it! It has everything: big cities full of contrasts, lush natural parks, a variety of beaches, and the food is simply amazing!

Enniscrone in Ireland and Forres in Scotland. Bad Laasphe in Germany. Faaborg in Denmark. Trébeirden in France. All of them charming villages with a - to us - unique athmosphere. Enniscrone is a coastal village and a popular holiday destination for Irish and British people, but we had never heard of it, and we were the only tourists there from outside of Ireland and the UK.
Faaborg and Trébeurden are also located at the coast, and true gems.
Bad Laasphe is a charming village woth traditional German architectire, surrounded by rolling fields. Forres is a nice town woth beautiful parks and just 10 minutes from the sea.

We also had an exchange in the German town of Bad Nauheim, which I knew beforehand, because I used to live not very far away. This is a popular destination for German wellness and health tourists due to its thermal baths, and also fampus because Elvis stayed there during his military services. Still, it’s unknown to many.
We had wonderful exchanges in all these places, and we will continue to look for those hidden gems.
