To compensate for the devaluation of the accumulated GPs due to the new GP calculation

I am totally opposed to the significant increase in GP awarded to apartments and houses in tourist cities (Barcelona, Paris, London, New York, Berlin… in many cases they have been increased by more than 100 points!), because from now on the GPs we had accumulated in our accounts by hosting other families have consequently been automatically devalued.

In fairness, existing balances should be adjusted. For example, as someone mentioned in the English forum, if 50% of homes will now require 10% more points, then all current balances should be increased by 5%.

I therefore hope that HE reconsiders and finds a way to compensate everyone who had a positive GP balance in their accounts with a proportional increase in points.

Thank you for your comment, we have updated the algorithm in order to facilitate exchanges, also taking into account the feedbacks by members in the past. You can find more details about this update in this post [share the forum post]. The objective behind this new calculation is straightforward: we want a more consistent calculation, in the interest of the entire community. We will be monitoring the results of this new algorithm for the next 6 months and will adapt the algorithm if we see it’s necessary.

Hi there, I’m sorry but I really hate everything about “algorithms”.
Suggest everybody to read this beautiful and sarcastic book written by Marc-Uwe Kling titled “QualityLand” where everything is run by infallible algorithm
Enjoy it!!
