💡 Tip of the week: Finding a home exchange

It’s Wednesday!☀️And what do we do on Wednesdays? We read the little tips to become a home exchange expert!

Today, a few tips to help you find the exchange you’re looking for .

🤗You don’t exchange with a house, you exchange with people

Behind every listing, there is one or more people. These are the people you are asking to lend you their home. So:

👉🏼 Target your search carefully: use the right filters.

👉🏼 Read each listing before contacting them: check that it really matches your criteria and that you match the member’s requirements (minimum stay, number of people, etc.)

👉🏼 Also read the profiles and reviews if available (to find the right home AND the member you feel a connection with).

👉🏼 Send a great, personalized request: and make sure it is realistic.

😊Be flexible

👉🏼Use the map to look at homes around major tourist cities. These members receive fewer requests and may be very happy to welcome you.

👉🏼When entering your dates in the search, add some flexibility if possible.

👉🏼Dare to be surprised by a destination you may not have thought of!

💌Send a great message

👉🏼Introduce yourself , as well as each person who may be traveling with you.

👉🏼 Explain why you want to take this trip, and why you chose this home rather than another one.

👉🏼Show that you have read the listing carefully.

👉🏼You need to make the person want to get to know you and trust you .

✏️Tips

👉🏼For a reciprocal exchange, use the reverse search to see who has added your location among their favorite destinations.

👉🏼Be sincere and transparent throughout the whole process.

👉🏼Have you found your exchange? Then let the other members you contacted know. And if, in the end, 3 members say yes, avoid leaving them waiting without any updates — put yourself in their position and be transparent.
