suspiciously generic request

This request is so generic. And the profile is of an individual and not a family (although from past reviews they may travel as a family). They want accommodation for 8! Their home is at least 11 or 12 hours on a plane away from me, and they want to arrive in a few days – so I don’t see how they could be wanting to line up an exchange rather than points (unless for another time). But I thought I would ask in case there is a rash of these going around and looks like some kind of scam or taken over accounts. Their native language does seem different than mine, so perhaps it makes some sense they would be copying and pasting. But the request reads (including the failure to fill in a name!):

Hello,

I really like your home and would love the opportunity to stay there.
I would be happy to arrange the exchange either through guest points or as a direct swap.

We are a family and would be excited to explore your area.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
[Your Name]

I think it’s just the generic auto model which is provided by HE. No scam here.

It is of course always good to be wary, and no harm in checking. I’m curious to know if you replied and if you heard anything back? Some members send out a lot of quite generic messages thinking that it’s a numbers game - but it is not. Maybe they sent lots of messages out quickly and just put it random dates to open the conversation up..
