As a newcomer to HE, I was told that it would be impossible to get an exchange in Rome and other big cities, but I managed to get a dream penthouse apartment in Rome, as well as Madrid and Annecy.
My Roman host understood my story, trusted my words and opened her beautiful home. During our conversations she said “Home Exchange will make your travel dreams come true!”
I was touched by her kindness. I was very well received, we exchanged local gifts and I took care of her plants every afternoon while watching the Roman sunset and even St. Peter’s Cathedral!
We stayed in a non-touristy neighborhood, but close to the attractions. I felt a little Roman, having lunch at the local restaurants, going to the market every day, cooking, risotto, pasta and even talking to the neighbors!
