Reverse searches, how to improve them

I usually use the reverse search function to find exchanges who want to come to England and London. And I have a very large house 1 hour from London so almost nobody who has listed England or London as a preferred destination should be completely disinterested. However, I get a lot of responses that are short or suggest that England/London are not of interest to them. Is this a result of people leaving their preferred destinations unedited and not up to date?

Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Reverse searches can be a really handy tool for finding an exchange. Here is some further information for anyone interesting in finding out more: https://help.homeexchange.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000730557-What-is-reverse-search-and-how-do-I-use-it

Your lack of interest could be because of a number of factors. Indeed some members may not regularly update their list of preferred destinations. However there are other things to take into account: perhaps they do not want to travel on the dates you have suggested; 1 hour from London is for many people not the same as being in central London; although you have a lovely home it may not be the type of property they are looking for….etc.

Hello Greg_Maidstone

I always use the reverse search to contact listings and people who put my city in their favorite destinations.
And my message starts with :

“As [name of my city] is in your favorite destinations and as your calendar is opened, i try my luck”.

At least if this information is incorrect, they no longer have any excuse for not doing their homework after receiving my message  .
