I’m looking for a home exchange in Japan in May 2026, specifically Kyushu, but there are no homes available. Even the rest of Japan is very, very sparse (we will also be in Tokyo and Kyoto areas). Is Japan hard to find home exchanges or is it that people don’t update their calendar till later?

It can be a challenge to find an exchange in Japan - when I last looked there were around 180 homes in Japan on the Home Exchange Platform. It is a country that is currently in very high demand. However don’t despair as it is possible! I would recommend being as flexible as possible with regards to possible dates, and also the type of exchange you can offer.
