Hi, would HE consider adding a “number of guests” filter for reciprocal exchanges? At the moment, I have to play detective: check the profile, look at “travels with,” and then guess how many people are coming based on profile photos and the number of bedrooms.
Being able to filter by the number of guests coming to my home would save a lot of time, as many listings are simply not relevant to me for reciprocal exchanges.
If someone contact you for an exchange, the number of travellers is written in the request.
And from my point of viw, the minimum is to present the group.
If not just ask for more information. It allows to start a conversation and see if people are nice and if it clicks.
If you contact someone, on the main list, there are the number of bedrooms and beds and search filters.
As far as i am concerned, the detective job does not totally work as my elder child prefer to go on vacation with friends and we may travel with grand ma or relatives.
All is explained when contacting hosts.
My issue is obviously not with the requests, but with my search. The number of bedrooms can help, but many couples worldwide live in three-bedroom houses, and I’d prefer not to filter these apartments out simply because I assume more than two people are living there. To your point, I’m not sure how common your situation is, but a potential solution could be to allow a range (for example, 2–5 guests) rather than a fixed number.
Another point regarding your situation: if I’m reaching out to you and offering a reciprocal exchange, and you’d like your son to travel with friends, would the home I’m interested in (yours) be empty during that period?
Anyway, it’s good to have others’ perspectives, and thanks again for taking the time to share yours!
