HE Collections deposit of 2,500 euros (Scam?)

I just want to check with everyone and make sure I am not getting scammed?

We were in discussions with a host of a property in London when we received an email from HE staff telling us to stop talking with this person due to suspicious activity.

A couple of days later we received an email from Mayline (HomeExchange) <[contact@homeexchangehelp.com]> telling us they found us an alternative host for our dates in London.

The alternative property is an HE collections property even though we do not pay for the collections membership. To finalize the GP exchange the HE staff is asking me to pay a 2,500 Euro deposit via bank transfer.

I have not received the instructions on how to do the bank transfer yet, but I wanted to ask the community here to make sure I am not getting scammed on this 2,500 euro bank transfer?

Hello, you’re right, this is absolutely a scam that has been used on HE before. Please don’t communicate with this person and send a message to member service through the contact form on the site to report it.

I have checked the original email headers as best as I can and verified that the email did come from contact@homeexchangehelp.com.

Is this a legit HE email address? Or is it being spoofed somehow?

Just so everyone else knows, this was confirmed as a scam by HE support staff.
