We have asked Support to change the dates of an exchange. What’s the case: we have been in their house in November, they have set dates for September 2026. But due to a medical issue, they have to change that dates. Normally, you can change dates but now the exchange is frozen because our part is done. Same for reviews: we cannot give a review, they also can,t.
We have this winter had 8 reciprocal, non sim exchanges. A couple of them have filled in temporary dates which we want to change now their plans become solid. But we can’t change.
We suggest a change, so we can change part 2 of the exchange and make a review for the first half.

You can ask the support to change the dates of the second leg for you, they will do it.
Regarding reviews, it’s made on purpose to avoid an average review for example after the first leg which could lead to the cancellation of the second part. That’s why it’s only possible to do it at the whole end of the exchange.

It would make less work for HE employees and it would ease the use of the website for members.
Maybe the problem comes from HE (HE after the merger) don’t like reciprocical exchanges.
This may be the reason why they don’t invest on it.
For reviews, the traveller should be able to write it when his memory is fresh.
To wait for months to write an exchange prevents an honest review, as the person has long since forgotten the feelings they experienced and the activities they took part in.
All the reviews i had after a long exchange only speak of my stay in their home because it’s fresh.
So little information about their experience.
So it does not help the futur travellers who want to have information about my home if they come.
The member could write a comment and the comment could be published once both did their part.

Why can we do it before the exchange is started and no more as soon as we are in their house. Mostly it’s then when you talk and their wish becomes more clear.
We love to do non sim exchanges and we have no problem with changing their dates but this way is annoying. For us, our guests and Support.
Indeed changing an exchange while it has already started is not possible, for gp exchanges too
We know, we have done almost 200 exchanges, we’ve been through it all. But we suggest a change in the system to make this things, with full consent of the exchange partners, possible. Because we prefer reciprocal exchanges over GP exchanges (although we also do these).
We visited Australia (from Europa) for 7 winters while most Australians prefer our summer, so we managed quite a lot non sim exchanges. And we know, from experience, that what we suggest, is possible (and done on other platforms).
