We are Elsa and Elie, a 30-ish couple. After 15 years in Paris, we decided to settle in Rouen, Normandy, where we’ve been living in our apartment (which we love so much) for almost 5 years.
A few words about Rouen, it’s a charming historic city where medieval architecture meets modern French culture. Stroll through its cobbled streets and experience stunning cathedrals, vibrant markets, and delicious local cuisine (and of course the best cheese!).
We are only 1h20 by train or car from Paris (and 20 minutes from Rouen train station), 1h10 by car from Étretat, and 1h from Honfleur. It’s the perfect place to explore Normandy while being close to Paris!
We are both self-employed; Elie is a graphic designer, and I am a communication consultant. We are lucky to be able to work from anywhere, so we might as well make the most of it Do not hesitate to reach out if you wish to come to our place, we are open to proposals everywhere, and also in exchange for Guest Points.
We’re also planning a 3-month road trip in the United States from August to October 2025. We’re trying to do quite a few guest points before then, so feel free to contact us if you’d like to spend a few days in Rouen.
We are both passionate about hiking and outdoor activities. We love exploring the world in search of the most beautiful trails and viewpoints, but we also enjoy the vibrancy and culture of cities, so wherever you are, feel free to reach out to us
We look forward to welcoming you to our place and discovering yours!
Hi Elsie and Elie, you say in your post that you’re particularly interested in gaining guestpoints for a future trip. In that case you should put your calendar in blue instead of green. If a member is seeking only a guestpoint exchange he won’t be shown your calendar as you’re looking for members open to both points or reciprocal, he will only be shown blue calendars.
Hi Susan, thanks a lot for your advices. I thought that by choosing both I’ll be shown to any type of demand (both exchange et GP), that’s too bad since I’m really open to any kind depending on the location I’ll think about it then. Thanks again !
In December ( 23-26) if I search only for guestpoints ( blue) I have only 5 results, but your home isn’t one of them. If I search for any kind of exchange ( green) there are 20 results, and your home is the 3rd to be shown.
You could put blue and if the member has a home that interests you then you could propose a reciprocal. 80% of exchanges on the site are for points sobyou have a higher chance of finding an exchange for points.
I am a brand new member, and I haven’t yet finished my profile and listing. I joined homeexchange hoping to find something exactly like your listing: a simultaneous exchange in Rouen during (roughly) Aug/Sep/Oct for a place in USA with outdoor sports possibilities, and cats. I didn’t think such a thing was possible, mais voila! Even our ages match: 2x30 = 60.
I live in the USA in a simple but charming house in Colorado Springs, in the heart of a wonderful neighborhood called Old Colorado City. (I’ll let you guess which state…)
I am right at the foot of Pikes Peak (~1800m.) It is an ideal place for outdoor sports: mountain biking, road/gravel biking, rock climbing, hiking, mountain running, …, all literally just out the front door. My house is also a very short walk from restaurants, shops, galleries, live music, farmers market, and even public transportation. Access by car to the Rocky Mountains is very easy: the main (only) road passes very near my house.
As a bonus feature, I have 3 adorable cats. They are easy to care for, but they LOVE attention and I want to find guests who will love them back.
I will try to finish my profile/listing soon so that we can communicate directly. Keep your eyes open for a message.
The filter allows you to select what kind of calendars you wish to see. If you select green you are saying that you are looking for someone who has put their calendar in green so is potentially open to discussing a reciprocal exchange or maybe even points.
You can select more than one option, green and blue. Then you’ll see both kinds of calendars, blue and green.
If I select blue and green I see Elise and Ellie’s calendar. If I select just blue I don’t see it. The research does what you ask it too, you select green it shows you green.
