Although you have few on HE who offer hospitality stays it might be helpful if you put it in a different color on the map or even put hospitality as a filter pre-search.
Hello Cafrobose, there is a filter for hospitality stays in the search engine. I am not sure what you mean when referring to “pre-search”. Cheers
The way they built the filters is kind of buried so you see type of Exchange then where people are looking to exhange to first. The rest of the choices you have to scroll to see which I didn’t pick up immediately. It would be nice if it was more visible and intuitive with size of property and type of listing moved up or as a single box. I find the sorting for recommended, new, and recently updated listings useless, if that was hospitality vs entire house it would be more useful but I realize this isn’t a big hospitality site.
If I do a search for ‘Anywhere in the world’ without any filters at all, the site indicates that there are some 10 000 results (maybe this is a platform technical limit or maximum). If I add as the only filter “Private room/Hospitality” it gives me 6263 results. That seems like quite a good proportion, but perhaps they are not well distributed across all destinations.
I must admit I don’t know what you are referring to with sorting by Recommended, New and Recently Updated. I can’t recall seeing this as an organization of results of a search.
I don’t think we mean the same thing when referring to filters …
I am on the website to be clear and once you do the search filter is on the left side, on the midldle of the top of the page is the recommended, new and updated and on the right is save this destination. Right away before filters you can limit the listing by choosing the pull down new, recommended. I don’t find that filter useful. Not sure who would.
If you select private room exchange type, you have only hospitality exchanges on the map. So no need of a different color don’t you think ?
6263 is not bad, but there are 200,000 paying members and probably around 500,000 listings with all non paying members, so it’s not a lot in fact
Indeed 10,000 results displayed is just the limit written
10 0000 is artificial, I thought so, given there are 200k members, as you say.
I use it all the time. When searching for a home, I regularly do the same research again and again so being able to sort by “new homes” or “new availability” helps a lot to see new results.
Sometimes if the group size is small you can search both as there are smaller homes too, you could see and distinguish at the same time. Another solution is to sort by home size.
Merci Marion, now I understand what Colleen is talking about when she refers to filters, we are talking about the function and options to sort the results of a search (Recommended, New, Recent), rather than the criteria that determine what is included or excluded from a search. My initial point was that you can do a search for homes such that the search results will only include Private Room/Hospitality Stays, by using the search filter Private Room.
I never think to use these sorting criteria, for the search results (New, Recent), I should give it a try …
