What makes your home a hidden gem?

Big cities and homes that tick all the boxes tend to get all the attention, but some of the best exchanges happen in places you’d never think to search for. What makes YOUR home special, and why should someone visit?

I’ll start!

My home is in Glasgow, Scotland, a city that doesn’t get nearly enough credit. It has some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet, an incredible arts and music scene, and is surrounded by stunning nature. Loch Lomond, the Highlands, and some of the most beautiful driving roads in the world are practically on the doorstep, including the legendary North Coast 500, one of the great road trips of Europe.

I’m an artist, and I try to implement that throughout my home. The interior is full of character, with my own paintings and photographs on the walls. A 15/20minute stroll away from Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis in the area is packed with history. The building itself is a late 1800s tenement, so there’s history baked into every corner.

A lovely post, thank you! I have moved it across to the ‘chat’ section and added a few tags so hopefully it will be seen more. You are right - Glasgow is often so overshadowed by Edinburgh, but it is lovely too and in a great location to explore.

I’m in North Devon - well known by those in the UK, but less known by people from overseas! Over overshadowed by our pretty neighbour Cornwall :slight_smile: However it’s so stunning here - the coast is rugged and unique and so much quieter too.

We are outside Phoenix, AZ but like in another world. With views of the Superstition mountains, and the birds, and the quiet of the desert where you can hike from our home to the top of flatiron. While everyone has heard of the other suburbs of Phoenix, Apache Junction is one that is an area that isn’t so well known or having such a good reputation but particularly our area of town is a hidden gem.
