Hello, I’m Elizabeth and I travel with my husband Ken. We are lucky to live in the Highlands of Scotland and to have good health so that we can continue to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities. We did our first exchange in 2006; it was amazing and we have had a number of very successful exchanges since then. We are now both retired (Ken from the UK Civil Service and me from the NHS). We don’t have any firm plans just yet but we are definitely hoping to travel some more now that we have the time. We really appreciate the philosophy of exchanging homes; the fact that there’s no financial transactions, it’s based on mutual trust, respect and on good communications with potential hosts and guests. Although I can understand why you might want to start early planning I’m afraid it’s too far ahead for us to be making firm plans at the moment. Your home and location look great but I don’t think we’ll be considering Florida next year. I hope you manage to find a base to explore your Scottish roots.

Hi Alison and thank you for sending your link. We’ve got friends that we stay with in Gifford but we’d be up for a stay in Edinburgh sometime. I can see that you’re an experienced exchanger so I’d be happy to consider a guest point exchange if you fancied it. This is our main, and only, home and we’re away quite a bit till the autumn. I haven’t updated my calendar for guest points mostly because I don’t have someone who cleans for me so it’s a bit awkward if we’re away and not able to do it ourselves.
Let me know if you’d like to consider something; either a simultaneous exchange or using some of your guest points to stay here. It isn’t possible before the end of August as we’ve got family visiting.
It seems that this new forum isn’t linked in with the HE website yet which seems a bit daft. I might have read it wrong but I got the impression that non paid up HE members are able to join the forum.
