We know that small welcome or thank-you gifts are completely optional. Making them mandatory would take away from their value. These little gifts should remain the cherry on top!
That said, a small gift, or simply a little note, welcoming your guests or thanking your hosts, is always a lovely and much-appreciated gesture. After all, these people have trusted us with their home, or we want to make sure they feel welcome in ours
