I’m somewhat new to HE and so far love it. Weve hosted a few tes and are about to search for some places to go this fall and winter.
What am i to make of folks who have exchanges, both hosting and guest-ing, but have no reviews. Does this mean there was something awry? How would i learn more before committing to a potentially not agreeable situation.
Thanks for opinions and experience here.
There can be reviews missing for many various reasons. If they are exchanges from a few years back then the reviews may not have been carried over when changes were made to the site.
When members do non-simultaneous exchanges the reviews don’t appear until both sides of the exchanges are completed. Some members just don’t like reviewing and so don’t do it.
A lack of reviews may also suggest that there have been problems, but it isn’t fair to assume this either. The best thing to do is to communicate well with the member in question and try to establish a relationship of confidence. If you don’t feel reassured it would maybe be better to look for different exchanges, especially until you’ve gained more experience yourself.
Hello Levinack ,
As an almost newbie, you may contact people with reviews if it helps to be more confortable.
Keep in mind that people who came to your home trusted you whereas you had no review
Hiiiii! I agree with what both @SusanJbrn and @Nathalie1 shared
I know that some members had shared that they preferred not to leave reviews because they’re just not comfortable with the idea too. But I think that another way to judge if you could be a good fit is also just by proposing a call with your exchange partner so you can get to know each other better
