When Irene and her family left Madrid three years ago, they wanted to give their three children the chance to experience life in other countries and cultures.
Since then, they’ve spent time living in Ireland and France, including two five-month stays in Ireland and a full school year in France. Along the way, the children have taken part in sailing lessons, played football, discovered hurling and, perhaps most importantly, grown up speaking three languages.
And then, this past September, their children had a few ideas of their own that changed the family’s plans once again…
It’s a lovely story about family, education, living somewhere rather than simply visiting, and the opportunities that HomeExchange can open up.
