Okay, I should know this, but don’t. If someone wants to be “friends“ on the platform, does that have any meaning? Is there a way to contact them without initiating an exchange request? This is a person who lives near me. I just want to meet for coffee and share experiences. Is there a way for members to contact each other in any other way than via the exchange request? There are times when I’d like to contact someone who lives in the city I’m planning to visit, There should be a trusted way to do that.
Also, why will the Forum page not keep me logged in? I have logged in about 15 times in the past 30 minutes, sometimes when I accidentally touched the back button. If you navigate away to look something up, you will have to re-enter your log in. Also, I had to change my password today and the system refuses to remember it. Waiting for an email confirmation to log in takes way too much time. This forum should be more user friendly. Okay done.
Yes, the “Friends” feature is mainly a way of saving/connecting with other members you know — it doesn’t currently open up a separate messaging channel. However watch this space, as it is certainly and area that has much more potential..
At the moment, the way to contact another member directly through HomeExchange is via an exchange request. However on the app you can simply send a “message” without adding in specific dates. Click on exchange request, but scroll across at the top to find “message”.
