Hi everyone,
We’re relatively new to the home exchange community and have been excitedly planning a trip to southeast Florida, where my husband grew up. Our goal is to spend some time there with our kids, in January, February and March. We’re flexible on dates and have been clear that, while we prefer a longer-term stay, we’re very open to shorter exchanges as well.
However, after sending out 35+ requests, we’ve only received rejections, most of which are standard auto replies without any explanation. We’re starting to wonder if we’re doing something wrong or if there’s something we’re missing in our approach.
Could it be that we’re asking for too long of a stay? Or is it because we’re using guest points? We’ve also wondered if it’s due to being new to home exchange, though we’ve hosted two families this summer and are hosting a couple long-term this upcoming winter. We’re really hoping to understand what might be causing these rejections, especially since we’ve had offers for exchanges in other locations, just not in Florida.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, or do you have any advice on how we might improve our chances? We’re genuinely excited about this trip, about using home exchange for the first time and for our kids to see where their dad grew up. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much for your help!
