Hi all, we have been exchanging our home several times, but now we are looking for a different type of exchange. Our kid, Alex, is starting an Erasmus+ exchange in Dublin, and it has been next to impossible to find a room in this city at an affordable price.
We are looking for a family that might be willing to put him up in the September - January period. During vacation time we can offer 2 houses in the Italian Alps, one near the Garda lake (fits 9), the other in Brixen (fits 4), for a shorter period to be agreed, or guest points. We have not found a mention of this type of exchange, but it seems to be in the spirit of the homeexchange idea. Would anyone be interested? - Roberto
This is possible if your son is over eighteen but still lives at home with you.
Itβs extremely difficult to find accommodation in Dublin since Brexit, good luck!
Bonjour RobertoZ
We tried to do the same for our student daughter in Germany and in France.
It is quite new in this community and criteria are not good to find a long term exchange.
However there is a facebook group not linked to HE which doe not make miracles but can help.
Tell me if you are interested by the link.
There are more and more people wishing to exchange for many months (retired people, homeschooling families and remote workers).
So letβs hope it will improve.
Thanks. Yes, the FB link would be nice. But I agree that HE could become more suitable for longer term exchanges.
