Hey there guys,
been a member for three years now. Having issues finding a place to stay in Rome, trying for over a month now. One of the listings I contacted was suspended due two weird behaviour and now I have started receiving what appears to be scam emails impersonating home exchange staff.
I received this first and thought it looks rather suspicious, so I contacted home exchange support to confirm with them. However there is still no response, 3 days later. The email was sent from contact@mail-homeexchange.com which is also likely a scam source. At the bottom of the email you can see the copyright years is 2020, though the email looks more or less legit.
In the following days I have received two new emails from the same email (below, scaled it to fit on the screen for a screenshot), which also looks kind of legit. Though I’m assuming it’s also a really well done scam email.
Posting here in case other people receive these, as they are rather well crafted and people might fall for them. Hopefully I’ll hear from home exchange support team soon and I’ll update the post accordingly.
All in all though, finding exchanges becomes increasingly difficult and with all of these elaborate scams floating around and the support team reacting rather slowly, I think I will be leaving this community.
