Hello from Nanyuki, Kenya! We’re an international family who love the outdoors and have just joined Home Exchange — excited to host and meet fellow travelers.
Our cozy, furnished mountainside cottage is on our organic vegetable and fruit farm Palmira, at the foot of Mount Kenya. Self-catering and off-grid, it has a private terrace with stunning mountain views, and wildlife — including elephants — often nearby. It’s a perfect getaway from city life, and also convenient with access for horse riding and hiking in the mountain and forests area, stopover or base for climbing Mount Kenya or exploring surrounding national parks like Meru or Samburu.
The area is peaceful, with local shops and farms supplying fresh produce, and town supermarkets a short drive away. Wonderful local restaurants, outdoor activities, and attractions like a wildlife safari at Ol Pejeta Conservancy are easily reachable.
We’re open to local and international exchanges and guest points, and happy to share tips for exploring the Kenyan countryside!
