Today I noticed a new āfeatureā that we canāt send more than a few messages a day. Clearly better than in the days when our system āpausedā after a few messages, due to the frequency of sending.But why did you put a new barrier?Personally, I have some days available to send messages and I canāt log in every dayā¦Please, remove the restrictions, at least for trustworthy people like ambassadors or people with some exchanges and above. From what I found out it is 100 requests per 24 hours, i.e. the roll is not reset at 12 oāclock at night.Which means that I have to wait 24 hours from the last message to try again.Already since yesterday I have 50 negative replies which means that it is already difficult to find a replacement. Maybe you should reconsider?
I remember the big problems of December, but they were caused by new accounts. If one is a confirmed user, one should not be under such restrictions.
Yes but 100 is very high. It works better when you personnalize, myself Iāve found 4 gp exchanges in Greece this summer and didnāt needed 100 requests total. Itās indeed 24h from the last message. Personnaly I wonāt vote for this.
I disagree, in my case it is not enough.And in general I donāt see the reason for such a restriction.HE worked fine for years and since this year everything has become difficult.Thanks for your help.
Wow , 100 requests is alot in 24 hours. I actually would think someone had gotten hacked and was spamming people if they did that many requests so quickly. I feel there were probably some incidents or complaints to drive this. I think maybe a more personal request or more detail when you ask. I am not keen to make something work with one sentence requests. I Have to have a feel for people otherwise I would list my house for short term rental.

The type of spamming is like when your credentials for a site are hijacked not sure if that has happened on HE.
Could you find more than 100 available matches in a location for your dates? I am not a planner but actually finder shorter time frames suit us. I also consider HE a nice to have not a this is the way I must go so that is perhaps a difference.
Yes this feature was introduced a little while ago to discourage members from sending large numbers of unpersonalised messages to hosts. The limit is 100 per 24 hours which in my opinion is already rather a lot. It is to encourage members to thoroughly read listings and then send considered and personalised messages. There are often complaints from members particularly in very popular areas that receive a high number of requests where it is clear that they havenāt read the listing thoroughly. I feel like it it would be tricky to read 100 listings in detail and send a considered request in 24 hours. Iāve found a gp exchange this summer in Athens in just 2 personnal message with details. Same in Kalamata, Veria and Kassandra peninsula. Iāve found 4 gp exchanges in Greece with less than 25 requests send during the winter. Works better than sending everyone around the same message in my long experience

Thanks Melissa! I think Iām sending very specific messages with what Iām asking for. I believe that the person who wants to make an exchange, however, is not so much influenced by the message as by the possibility of exchange. For example, Iām trying to book for New York, Iāve sent about 300 messages, with 80% response rate, verified etc and I still havenāt found anything. Flights have become more expensive and I donāt see this travel happeningā¦
Oh iām sorry to hear that. Maybe park the idea of NYC for another holiday, maybe it is something that you need to plan a bit further ahead or it might be easier at a different time of year perhaps. I do think though that a really lovely personalised message can make all the difference between me accepting and not accepting a proposal. As this is my home (my pride and joy and only slightly less important to me than my children ) I really want to know that lovely people will be looking after it for me.
I am sure you know NYC is hard which often to people means just Manhattan. Check along the transit lines to the city. Including PATH, NJTransit, LIRR. I know it is not the ādreamā but there are many vibrant places that connect to the city. If you look for a long stay you may find few takers.

Can I ask why you wouldnāt want the āalready contactedā message? I personally find it really useful to see this as I know who iāve already asked in the past.
yes of course,forgive me for the late reply.It is indeed very useful,but,for example,I went to Paris this time last year and I want to go again this year.I would like to have the option not to display āalready contactedā after a certain period of time.
