Welcome to the forum Lucy
I understand it must be time consuming to respond - you must have a home in a very popular location to have so many requests. The product team are looking into the automatic responses so I will pass this onto them for consideration.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us - and welcome to the Forum!
All of what you have said is valid and I will pass this onto the team. Yes I personally use the Vinted ‘away’ mode and it is very handy.
Thank you for taking the time to share this. Please be aware that a member will know when they have had an auto rejection sent from their account. They will have had a number of reminders to respond - so i’m not sure whether it would be necessary to reach out again. The member can still reply to you after the 4 day auto rejection so I should think that if after all of that you haven’t heard from them then they are most likely not interested.
Yey thank you Laura ![]()
Yes this a very good point
Wow I dream of having dozens of requests!
where are you based?
I think this is a great idea and one I will certainly pass onto the team. In the meantime you could always take off your calendar availability whilst you are away maybe?
Thank you so much for your thoughts on this and welcome to the Forum too
I will share your feedback with the team
Hi! I’ve been doing HE on and off since 1994, at the time no internet, we were exchanging letters! I disagree with the change. Give us a break with this idea that everything must be answered immediately. As some people have said, we have lives outside the HE platform. I’m a host in Barcelona (both bedroom and whole flat), I receive many requests, plus all the notifications and communications. A number of those requests are low quality: last minute (like the day before!), way too much time in advance, just one sentence, too many people, people believing this is AirBnB… I do what I can answering messages in batches but this is often off-putting. Make it 7 days if you like but there will still be moments in my life I’ll have other priorities. When I’m the one looking for an exchange I expect part of the messages will be left unanswered and this is fine, I’ve always found something easily enough in the end (except London). I prefer quality time in my life, including sharing quality moments with my HE guests, rather slaving over all this over-communication.
Yes, agreed, I do like the delete facility, BUT after say 8 to 10 days…(NOT 4) sometimes I am free only one day a week to catch up on requests replies etc, eg Sunday - other days am working or out; the weekdays…give it at least a week (the natural cycle)…
I actually don’t know if it’s interesting unless I have time to look at it & think it over. I work full time, have two kids and aging parents. Right now with our political situation I’m not getting so many requests. But there have been times where I was averaging 2 requests a day for months on end.
4 days is absurd and offensive. I’m not running a hotel.

What a dreadful new rule. And totally dismissive of those of us with thick business travel schedules or other pressing needs that might delay a response. There are many times I’m locked in a project and unable to respond within a mere 4 days to non-work-related correspondence. Add in time/international dateline shifts, research windows for home locations and calendar options, perhaps health-related concerns or family obligations for some people. This will be an unnecessary and thoughtless potential deal killer for many exchangers. 1 week might be reasonable at minimum, but 4 days is random and narrow-minded. Those who reach out for an exchange can still receive responses, but what if our home is the best for them? This poorly conceived policy squashes opportunity. Please re-think your misguided move, and quickly.
Brilliant idea, well done. Anything that improves response times is valuable.
For personal reasons I couldn’t connect for a few days when I saw that all the invitations had been answered in this way..I don’t get it..why?What difference does it make?
Is there a way to turn it off please?
I’m sorry but please could you edit your comment to show in English as this is the English speaking forum. Thank you
I corrected it, I didn’t understand.
The is a new update that has been introduced for all members. It is to encourage members to reply in a more timely manner. I’m afraid no it cannot be turned off.
i see.but 4 days its too short.if you are about to make it permanent better do for 10 days to be helpful..
