We have cats and we are planning a two months exchange. Just need to have a back up person come check on them when our guest wants to go away for a little bit. I guess it is not for everyone.

Hello! We are a family of four from Madrid: Bea, AsĆs, and our two children (who will be 11 and 9 years old in 2026). We would love to spend a school year abroad so that our kids can attend a local school and truly immerse themselves in English.

:round_pushpin: Where: Ideally in a medium-sized town or city in Ireland or the UK, with good schools nearby (public school preferred).

  • We are experienced with home exchanges and we love discovering new places as a family.

  • We are respectful, tidy, and reliable, and we always take great care of the homes we stay in.

  • We would like this to be a cultural and educational experience for our children, not just travel.

:house_with_garden: What we offer:
Our home in Madrid (Ibiza–Retiro area):

  • Bright apartment in one of Madrid’s most charming neighborhoods, right next to Retiro Park.

  • Well connected by metro and bus, with schools, supermarkets, cafĆ©s, and playgrounds nearby.

We would love to connect with a family in Ireland or the UK who is interested in experiencing life in Madrid for a school year. We can also include a car in the exchange.

Hello everyone, we would like to spend a month or so in a warm place before our oldest son starts school. We need a house for two adults and two children of 0 and 5 years old. The ideal would be a large house in which a friendly couple could also stay. But it’s not essential. In return, we offer our apartment in the beautiful region of AllgƤu, at the foot of the Alps, in an ecological community. Thank you for your help

Long-term exchanges allow property owners to swap real estate for extended periods instead of selling. This strategy helps investors gain stable income and long-term appreciation. Real estate agents assist by evaluating properties and managing legal agreements. Such exchanges are ideal for markets with limited liquidity but strong future potential. They also help diversify portfolios while minimizing tax burdens. Overall, long-term exchanges create sustainable growth opportunities in real estate. Hello everyone,

We are looking for a long-term home exchange of around one school year, ideally from the end of August 2026 until July 2027. Our preference would be for an English-speaking country.

We are a family of seven: two parents in our forties, both business owners who can work remotely, and five children aged 5 to 13. We are used to home exchanges and love the cultural and human experience they provide.

Our home is a manor house located in Annonay, in the ArdĆØche region of France. The area is calm, surrounded by nature, and close to excellent primary and secondary schools (primary, middle school, and high school). We also have a few pets to take care of.

If someone is interested in a long-term exchange or would like more information about the house, the region, or our family, feel free to contact us.

Looking forward to connecting!

HI Catherine

Great that you like to travel long-term to cities.

Would you be interested in a Guest Point stay in our home in Brooklyn NY?

We much prefer long term guests! Our guide is written with that in mind.

Our home is currently available from Dec 30 2025 to Feb 17 2026.

Please contact me if you might be interested.

Best

Rachel

Thank you for your offer. For long-term exchanges, I prefer not to use guest points. Unfortunately, I also won’t be travelling to the US for the next 3 years.

Looking for a Medium-Term Home Exchange (1+ Month)

Hello! I’m a 30-year-old front-end developer living and working remotely from Prague, Czech Republic. I’m looking for a home exchange for at least one month. I’m flexible with dates and open to discussing different time frames.

Where I’d love to go:
Spain, Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, Malta — but I’m absolutely open to other suggestions too. If you think our homes could be a match, I’d love to talk!

About my home in Prague:
A bright and cozy 40 m² apartment located in a very green, calm, and safe neighborhood. The area is full of:

  • Excellent cafĆ©s and specialty coffee spots

  • Restaurants, pubs, and bakeries

  • Parks and quiet streets perfect for walking

  • Quick and easy public transport to the city center

It’s an ideal place for someone who wants to experience the authentic, relaxed side of Prague while still being close to everything.

About me:
I’m a responsible and tidy person, non-smoker, without any bad habits. I work remotely as a front-end developer, so stable Wi-Fi and a peaceful environment are essential — and I’ll treat your home with the same care as my own.

If you’re interested in spending some time in Prague and think your place could be a good match, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to discuss details and see if we can arrange a great exchange for both sides!

Hi, I’ve been trying to figure out how to access long term exchange opportunities on the site for a while. I’ve been a member for 20+ yrs and have had great success. I recently spent 1 month in Barcelona and am looking for another month long exchange in either April/May or Sept/Oct of 2026. My top choices would be London, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Stockholm. Having said that please reach out if you have interest in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. Not only can you visit SF, other top destinations near by include, Carmel/Monterey (2 1/2hrs) Lake Tahoe (3hrs) The Sonoma/Napa Wine region(45mins-1 1/2hrs depending upon destination).

Hi Jan,

Sounds like our place could be of interest to you  Our duplex apartment in Haute Savoie, France is available for most of April and May and we’re looking guests wanting to stay for 1 month minimum. It would be guest points only as we’ll be travelling to Costa Rica (although we lived in San Francisco previously and will likely visit again one day so I’ll definitely add your place to your favourites!).

Best, Rosina

Hi everyone!

My name is David and I live in La CoruƱa (Spain), but I’m offering my small house in Marco de Canaveses, Northern Portugal. I’m looking to trade the peaceful green hills for some Central European city vibes!

What I’m offering: A humble house in the heart of Northern Portugal (in the Douro Valley). If you like nature, wine and tranquility, this is it. During the summer, you’ll have access to a massive swimming pool to survive the Portuguese sun.

Space for everyone: The house can host up to 6 people, so it’s perfect for families or a group of friends. On my end, it’s just me (and maybe my girlfriend visiting), so I’ll be a very quiet guest in your home.

What I’m looking for: I work 100% remotely on CET time (9h-18h), so I’m a bit of a ā€œdesk nerd.ā€ I need a centric apartment in cities like Prague, Budapest or Krakow (altought open to other options) with a comfortable desk and a chair that won’t destroy my back. I promise to be ā€œinvisibleā€ during working hours and out exploring (and tasting your local beers) the rest of the time! No parties, no drama—just a quiet guy working and traveling.

The ā€œStay as long as you wantā€ Deal: I’m looking for a 1-month stay, but I’m super flexible. In fact, this is my secondary residence so you can actually stay in my house for longer if you want to truly experience the Portuguese ā€œslow livingā€.

Why Marco de Canaveses?

  • The Food: You haven’t lived until you’ve tried the local Vinho Verde and the amazing Portuguese gastronomy (it’s delicious and very affordable!).

  • Location: You are a 1 hour train/car ride away from the stunning Douro Valley (UNESCO World Heritage) and the vibrant city of Porto.

  • Peace: It’s the perfect place to disconnect while still having everything you need nearby.

Check out my home here: https://www.homeexchange.com/holiday-home/2335063

If you fancy a Portuguese summer by the pool while I take over your desk in the city, let’s talk!

Cheers,
David

Bonjour!
I just saw your post and was wondering if an exchange in Montreal would be of interest to you? We are a family of 4 living in Verdun, a bilingual neighborhood alongside the fleuve St-Laurent and we are considering an 1/year exchange in France to be closer to my mother who moved to France. Our kids go to a bilingual school (English-French). I would be more than happy to introduce you to the school principal.
Here is our home : Marie-JosĆ©e’s house

Let me know your thoughts!
Warmly,
MJ
