We are planning a one-year adventure for the 2027-2028 school year (September to July).

Our #1 priority is Japan: we plan to enroll our daughters at the LFIT (Lycée Français International de Tokyo). We are looking for a home in North Tokyo (Kita, Itabashi, Toshima, Bunkyo).

However, we are also open to other international destinations for this sabbatical year. We are a family of four from Brittany, France (two young daughters born in 2022 and 2025).

What we offer:
Our 1,700 sq. ft. family home in Châteaugiron, a charming medieval town near Rennes.

  • Highlights: Quiet cul-de-sac, private garden, outdoor Jacuzzi, piano, and high-speed fiber.
  • Lifestyle: Screen-free home (no TV) but lots of toys! Walking distance to everything (shops, castle, aquatic center).
  • Location: Perfect base to discover Brittany (1h from Mont Saint-Michel and Saint-Malo).
  • Extras: Car and bikes can be included.

We are seasoned travelers, very respectful and careful with the homes we stay in. Although we are new to HomeExchange, we have many 5-star reviews on Airbnb that we would be happy to share to show our reliability.

Nous commençons à planifier une aventure d’un an pour l’année scolaire 2027-2028 (septembre à juillet).

Notre choix numéro 1, de loin, est le Japon : nous souhaitons scolariser nos filles au Lycée Français International de Tokyo (LFIT) à Takinogawa. Nous recherchons donc idéalement une maison ou un grand appartement dans le Nord de Tokyo (Kita, Itabashi, Toshima, Bunkyo).

Cependant, nous restons ouverts à d’autres destinations internationales pour cette année sabbatique si une belle opportunité se présente. Nous sommes une famille de 4 (couple né en 1992 et deux filles nées en 2022 et 2025) originaire de Bretagne.

Ce que nous proposons en Ă©change :
Notre maison de famille de 157 m² située à Châteaugiron, une magnifique cité médiévale à seulement 15 minutes de Rennes.

  • Le cadre : Calme absolu en bout d’impasse, jardin clos, jacuzzi extĂ©rieur, piano et fibre optique.
  • Vie locale : Tout se fait Ă  pied (château, commerces, piscine, Ă©coles).
  • Tourisme : IdĂ©al pour explorer la Bretagne (Mont Saint-Michel et Saint-Malo Ă  1h).
  • Bonus : Voiture et vĂ©los disponibles.

Nous sommes de grands voyageurs, très soigneux et respectueux des lieux qui nous accueillent. Bien que nouveaux sur HomeExchange, nous disposons de nombreux avis excellents sur Airbnb que nous serons ravis de vous partager pour vous rassurer sur notre sérieux.

Hello. Nice project but I would advice you to try local exchanges first, to build reviews etc. Exchanging is already hard in japan (100 members while 90 000 in France !) cause it’s not in their culture. You would have better chance in other countries like USA, Canada , Australia, New zealand for example in my humble opinion

Good call! I did left “Open to other options” in case Japan is impossible.
I was hoping some expats would like to spend a year in France at some point :man_shrugging:
This isn’t the only post I’m going to make for that project though.
