London exchanges

I searched for a home exchange in London for our winter break. Sent 5 messages and… jackpot! :tada:

We landed a lovely apartment in Central London – perfect for our little family of three and within walking distance to most of the sights. Honestly, it felt like winning the lottery!

We had the best holiday and the sweetest host, Jessie. :yellow_heart:

My advice? Be patient and message several members. And if it doesn’t work out? Try another destination instead!

Last year, we also visited London – and stayed at a hotel. No problem. We don’t expect to find a home exchange in every destination we dream of. We always give it a go, but if it doesn’t work out and it’s somewhere we really want to go… well, we look for other options.

HomeExchange isn’t a booking site – and the moment you accept that, you save yourself a lot of disappointment.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, felt like we had hit the jackpot as well when on a 3 week trip to Portugal Spain and Denmark last year we didn’t have to spend a penny on accommodation the entire trip…booked all home exchanges.
Since then we’ve still had successes. For us though it’s not always as simple as just choosing another destination. Occasionally we’ve had to pay for accommodation which we don’t have an issue with. Home exchange is still amazing!!!

Hello everyone. I’m very interested in this article because I’ve been trying to arrange an exchange with London next fall, and I’m not getting a response to all my messages (a lot). I mean, not a single response, not even a negative one. I have read your advice and I will try to follow it, but what seems strange to me is that my proposal doesn’t suit anyone because I only write to users who have dates available by GP on the dates I propose. And I’m flexible with dates. Anyone can help me? Thanks in advance
