Milan/London exchange this Christmas!

Hi all! After sending 100+ requests (and getting only a few - negative - answers) I will try this way  We are a family of four, living in Milan and offering our home in exchange:

We are (almost desperately) looking for an exchange in London this Christmas (ideally Dec 27th to Jan 3rd), either reciprocal or with guestpoints.
Milan has a lot to offer at any season but Christmas is really special; we leave not far from the city center and the Central Station, offering connections with anywhere in Northern Italy.

We also have a lovely cat and many plants, and would love to take care of others’.

Anyone interested in some Italian vibes this Christmas?

Hi, welcome to the forum! Finding exchanges in London is very difficult, especially at Christmas time! Milan is a beautiful city though so you may be lucky! I suggest you put your listing link so members can contact you. You could also try posting in the official facebook group if you’re a member.

Thanks Susan, I added the link in my original message and will also post in the FB group!

I think the cat living in the house is the main reason why people refuse to exchange

I don’t think London is difficult to find exchanges, I found one in Christmas time 2 years ago, was relatively easy, I think the main problem is the cat, most people don’t want to exchange with a house with pets, especially if live inside during the exchange. No one want cat hair around the house.

No London is very complicated generally, second most requested city on the site. But that’s great if you’ve had an exchange there easily

Hello Marcus, I do not agree. I’ve had 16 exchanges in one year, no problem with the cat (most people like having him around) and not a single complaint about cat’s hair, as you’d hardly find one in our house (and yes, we are proud of our cleanliness). Also, many potential exchangers in London have cats (I find the HE community very much a catlover one), so I really can’t see your point. Glad to hear you found an exchange easily though.

HE has worked and works perfectly for me and my house, and I’ve never complaint about it. I don’t understand your passive/aggressive tone, which is completely off in this context and in the HE community. Please @SusanJbrn I ask for your moderation, this isn’t Facebook and I’ve never met such hostility here. Thank you

Hello Marcus, I dont think you can say that ’ most people don’t want to exchange with a house with pets." A large number of members have many years of successful exchanging and also have pets. Many members even actively look for homes where there are pets as they particularly want to look after pets during their holiday.
London is very difficult, you may have just been lucky.

I’m sure your cat is a very happy asset for many exchangers!
