Insurance issue UK

Hi there

I can’t find anyone who can suggest an insurance company Who is amenable to allowing people to stay in their homes on this basis. Through one direct contact I was put in touch with a company that did mainly farming communities, and whose quote was five times my current insurer. So I could start messaging various people who are on here offering homes in cities – and I might! – but it seems there must be an insurance company somewhere who regularly offers to cover urban houses who want to use their home for a few weeks a year in this way.

If anyone is prepared to specifically name the insurance company that they use, with whom they have been transparent and open about the use of HomeExchange, I would be very grateful.

Many thanks

Jack

Hi Jack, welcome to the Forum! This is indeed an issue that has been discussed quite a few times in the Forum. I’m afraid to say that I have not come across a particular named insurer for the UK that clearly covers HE stays. I am based in the UK so I have personal experience with this. Our previous insurer was very vague but basically said they would rather ‘friends’ were in our house than it be left empty. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.
