How much time in advance do you plan your exchanges?

It totally varies on where I am going. Bay Area has a lot of lovely possibilities and lot of travelers. Those can often be on shorter notice.
Something like a reciprocal exchange though can be 6mo - 1year.

I mostly plan it last minute :smiley: and I appreciate hosts that accept my exchange requests with 1-3 days before arrival :heart::heart::heart:

We always plan ahead - at least 3 months. Perhaps it’s the location we have chosen and the high standards we require but it takes this long … and at least 50 requests … to find a suitable home. It’s worth it as we’ve had great guest homes, and because of my high standards I’ve had great guests in my home. And, thanks, community members, for the time you spend answering requests whether yes or no. It’s the communication factor which cohesively binds the members .
