Hello From The Pacific Northwest!

Hello! We are new to home exchange and excited to get going with hosting and visiting! We are a family of six who love to visit and explore new places. Our home in Fall City, Washington is 30 minutes from Seattle, thirty minutes from Skiing/hiking, and surrounded by a ton of easy to access activities! From concerts to small town tourism we have a lot to explore here! We also have a small hobby farm on our property with some overly friendly goats and barn cats that are fun to visit with (farm care taker comes daily!). Our home is walkable to the cutest little downtown and sandy riverbank where we love to spend the day lounging and swimming!

Welcome, sounds like a dreamy spot to swap from. Fall City is such a sweet base, that Snoqualmie Valley access to both mountains and Seattle is a real selling point for exchangers, and the friendly goats and river swimming will absolutely charm families with kids. Great that you’ve got a caretaker sorted too, that reassures people the animals are covered. Tip for your listing: lots of seasonal photos, the ski access and the sandy riverbank appeal to totally different swappers. Happy travels.

The mix of mountain access, river activities, and a quieter home base is a strong appeal. Highlighting different seasons in the listing is a good idea since it shows people what they can enjoy throughout the year. The caretaker detail also adds extra confidence for potential swappers.

Thank you! Great tips :-)!

Hi! Your home and location sound absolutely lovely! We’re a family of five from the Blue Mountains in Australia, and we’re currently looking into a longer-term home exchange, ideally around 6–12 months.

Our first option at the moment is Kelowna, Canada, but we’re keeping an open mind and looking at a few other possibilities as well. Your area sounds like it could be a really beautiful place for our family to experience.

We have a beautiful spot here in the Blue Mountains and even have three cheeky little ducks at home, so the hobby farm definitely caught our attention! :duck::blush:

I was just wondering, what sort of timeframes are you hoping to host or exchange for? And with the hobby farm, would the caretaker take care of the animals while guests are staying, or would there be some farm care expected from us?

Would love to hear a little more about what you’re looking for!

Hi! Ahh gosh Australia is at the top of our list! What a beautiful spot you have there ! We have not really contemplated exchanges longer than 2-3 weeks at this point. We own a small business we both work in so being gone longer than that would be tough at this stage. But our minds are open to future arrangements for sure as we get to know the platform and could shift things in our business owner roles!

For stays so far we have a farm caretaker arranged for the whole stay. If someone were to stay longer (two plus weeks) it would probably need to be a situation where they felt comfortable and had some experience with farms. We have it set up very specifically to be cared for easily but it does take 20-30 minutes a day and does involve not glamourous things like poop scooping. There are very rewarding parts to like new little baby animals, collecting eggs, cutting fliers and veggies! We currently have middle schoolers or high schoolers as our farm caretakers when we are out of town and they can do it easily, not too hard at all!

Let’s stay in touch for sure!
