Does "delete" request delete for recipient? Does "archive" prevent seeing you've already made contact?

I have a question about deleting my messages/requests to people, and archiving them.

I like to use “archive” when I get a “no”, so I don’t have to wade through "no"s to see the live options. But does archive prevent seeing you’ve already made contact? (the note that comes up that I have already contacted someone) That feature seems to fail sometimes, and if archiving is the reason I think I’d stop archiving.

Also, with “delete”: Once I finalize something, I’d love to save others the trouble of having to respond. Does deleting my message/request on my end, remove it for them as well, so they don’t have to bother responding?

Hi @zoechowber

Apologies for the delay, i’ve been speaking to the team to find out an answer to your query. So even if you archive or delete a conversation, the “already contacted” tag will be still there. There is no rules on the timing also (for example you will still get the tag even if it’s someone you reached out 6 years ago)

However there is a bug in the system which means that sometimes the tag does not display when it should. This is something the team is looking into, so thank you for highlighting it

So archiving is NOT the reason why it is not always displayed. You can continue with your process of archiving.

With regards to your second query, when you delete a message or a request, it does not remove it from the other end. So you should really still respond.

Have a great day!
