Hello wonderful people ![]()
I was lately thinking about the collection option that is available on HE.
Is it worth it? We were offered it but werenāt interested before.
We are considering it right now.
I had a bad experience with point exchange guest and thinking of only direct swaps in the future. Would it be easier to find nice homes if you are in a ācollectionā category of homes? Anyone experienced any benefits?
All your opinions will be very much appreciated and welcomedš
Thanks for your time reading it
Iāve read about the collection option and Iāve always found it a bit strange, to be perfectly honest. To me, it feels like an āeliteā group. What does it mean, nice homes? Canāt smaller homes with less facilities be nice? Is the difference in Guest Points for bigger homes with more facilities not enough? I will always set my points at 0 for simultaneous swaps, even in the future when it might be just my husband and me swapping with big families.
Are you only considering it now because of one bad experience with hosting for points? Have you not had good experiences with that? There are many members who have had perfect swaps with points. And if you will have a simultaneous swap that is not very satisfying, will you give up on HE?
Our house is big, but we wouldnāt be asked to be in the Collection, However, I canāt imagine that it would fit me to be in there. I like that on HE, we are all the same, namely home exchangers.
If people have in their description: āWe only want to swap with houses that are similar to oursā I move on, even if our house is similar. I like the variety of the homes!
But thatās just my opinion.
Thank you for your input. I appreciate it
I completely agree with you. I can only sleep in one bed at a time, so as long as there are enough bed spaces to suit the number of people staying, then thatās perfect for me.
The same goes for a bathroom and kitchen.
Can you search for "collection " homes to see what they are talking about. I find it drifts in the opposite direction of what I would like. Sort of the Elite. Then again you see people say I want a similar home to mine and they have a maid and I know weāre out. I suppose there is a segment of people who might like it. Not sure if it would open up your options because you are in the same club and the other home owners.

I think exactly as Trenke.
The collection is based on homes considered as exceptionnal by Homeexchange.
Homeexchange explained they created if for people who want exchange only with upscale homes and who stopped their membership because they could not find these type of homes easily and Horror were contacted by people with normal homes ![]()
So in subscribing and if your home is accepted, youāll be sure to go to beautiful homes and be contacted by owners with beautiful homes.
If it is your aim, you may try it.
As far as i am concerned i am not interested in snobbish people.
The other reason is that there are less choice.
And the final reason is that a beautiful home is not necessary what i am looking for.
You may find a small place in Manhattan or a beautiful home in the middle of nowhere.
It really depends on what you like.
To be precise , no thereās not āless choiceā. Thereās less choice only if Collection members decide to exchange only in Collection program, but they also have an option to stay among us regular members. Some joined it for the better guarantees for example, not necessarly to exchange with other premium homes
Hi there! Just hopping on this discussion ![]()
Iām sorry to hear that you had a tricky exchange situation with GuestPoints. Like @Trenke mentioned, many members have had great exchange experiences with GuestPoints (myself included!) so if that was your only one, I would suggest giving it another go if youāre up for it!
And to answer your question about Collection, HomeExchange Collection members mostly appreciate having easier and better access to luxury homes and the higher level of guarantees offered by the Collection membership.
I would say it really depends on what youāre looking for in an exchange. Personally, the HomeExchange membership suits me just fine ![]()
