Hi. is it possible to manually over ride the GPs for a particular time of the year. For example, over the Christmas summer period, when there is very high demand for holiday homes, can i manually adjust the GPs to say double the recommended value?

No, not possible, you Can only add 30gp more. Better to let the regular value for high périods and lower it down for low periods, that’s the only way

Hello Alastair, welcome to the Forum :slight_smile: There is a range where you can adjust the Guest Points value of your home, but it is not possible to double it. If you log in and click on ‘my account’ and then ‘my home’ and then navigate to the ‘guest points’ section using the list on the left. This is how you adjust your amount of Guest Points per night.

Hi guys, a newby here. I was looking for a place today and saw one advertising 800GP per night over NYE week. It was just a note in their property title and text description, but the 800GP wasn’t reflected in their GP value. I was wondering how they might handle this discrepancy? Do they find a way to get guests to donate points to them separately? Or? And, if so, is this ethical/accepted practice? I guess I’m wondering also about my place. We have a place with perfect views for NYE fireworks, and I can imagine it would be very sought after. But I don’t want to raise points too much if its inappropriate and/or unfriendly here on HE. I’m new so just hoping for some clarity. Thanks in advance!

It’s not possible to raise the points that much. First of all it’s not very ethical for a host to charge that many GPs. I have seen beautiful and luxurious villas for 300 GP. Charging 800 GP just because it’s New Year’s Eve doesn’t seem fair to me.

Second, I think the only way they can overcharge their guests is by booking more days than they actually stay. For example, let’s say they usually get 200 GP per night. Since they say it’s 800 around that time they will probably ask guests to book 3 more nights to get to a total of 800.
