What's the Etiquette

Hi
Being new and having a few HE stays coming up as a guest I was wondering what is the go when leaving someones home? I think get the cleaning part if no fee is charged, however I was more thinking along the lines of bed linen towels etc.
Do you strip and change the sheets, put them in the washer, remake the beds etc…For guest staying at ours it not an issue as we have a daily helper that does it all.

I don’t want to get off on the wrong foot so I would appreciate some guidance
cheers

Hi , you will receive a huge variety of replies concerning this subject. Some charge a cleaning fee that covers everything, some expect their home to be left as you found it with linen and towels washed and beds remade. The majority of exchangers though expect you to clean yourself as if it was your home but to just strip the beds and leave the used linen/ towels in a designated place.
So how can you know what to do? There is only one answer and only your host can tell you what THEIR expectations are! So communicate well about this, ask questions, be sure you’re both ‘on the same page’.
Ideally this should be done before the exchange is finalised by either side. If the host expects you to wash bedsheets and make beds on your last day and you can’t / don’t wish to do this then it isn’t the right exchange for you!

I totally agree with @SusanJbrn. Communication is key.
