Tip of the week: Want to get more exchange offers? Here’s how to make your listing stand out

First things first: don’t forget that HomeExchange is an international platform. People from Australia, the US, and beyond will be checking out your listing. Unless you live in a major tourist city, you’ll need to put in a bit of effort to make them want to stay at your place.

Here are some tips to help you polish your listing:

👉🏼 Make your title catchy: give people a reason to click!

👉🏼 Keep your tone natural: your listing should sound like you. Skip the AI! The more authentic you are, the more you’ll attract like-minded guests

👉🏼 Highlight all the best bits of your home, your neighborhood, and your region. What will people love about staying with you? (Usually, it’s the same things you love!)

👉🏼 Mention nearby amenities: include distances to things like grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, etc., plus the nearest town and public transport options

👉🏼 Let people know if they’ll need a car, and mention the nearest train station and airport

👉🏼 In the “final note” section, you can add anything you haven’t mentioned yet: pets, plants, accessibility, EV charging, etc. and finish with a friendly touch

👉🏼 Break up your text: especially if it’s long. Make it easy and enjoyable to read

👉🏼 Check your spelling

👉🏼 AVOID ALL CAPS (it can come across a bit aggressive 🥶)

👉🏼 Go through all the listing details carefully to make sure everything is up to date: number of beds, surroundings, and so on

Take a few minutes in the coming days to review your listing, whether you’re brand new or you’ve been on HomeExchange for 20+ years 🙂 And feel free to share any extra tips we might’ve missed in the comments!

See you soon for more tips! 😊
