First things first: don’t forget that HomeExchange is an international platform. People from Australia, the US, and beyond will be checking out your listing. Unless you live in a major tourist city, you’ll need to put in a bit of effort to make them want to stay at your place.
Here are some tips to help you polish your listing:
Make your title catchy: give people a reason to click!
Keep your tone natural: your listing should sound like you. Skip the AI! The more authentic you are, the more you’ll attract like-minded guests
Highlight all the best bits of your home, your neighborhood, and your region. What will people love about staying with you? (Usually, it’s the same things you love!)
Mention nearby amenities: include distances to things like grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, etc., plus the nearest town and public transport options
Let people know if they’ll need a car, and mention the nearest train station and airport
In the “final note” section, you can add anything you haven’t mentioned yet: pets, plants, accessibility, EV charging, etc. and finish with a friendly touch
Break up your text: especially if it’s long. Make it easy and enjoyable to read
Check your spelling
AVOID ALL CAPS (it can come across a bit aggressive
)
Go through all the listing details carefully to make sure everything is up to date: number of beds, surroundings, and so on
Take a few minutes in the coming days to review your listing, whether you’re brand new or you’ve been on HomeExchange for 20+ years
