The photos in the home description do not seem realistic. What do you do in that case?

Hi community!
I would like to ask your opinion.
In one of the home descriptions, 5 out of 7 photos are not realistic. It’s very visible, especially compared to 2 other photos.
I’m hesitant to confirm the exchange, though the house is a good match.

What do you usually do in that case? Is it ok to ask the host to share actual photos?

Hi  Welcome to the Forum! I’m not too sure exactly what you mean by the photos not being realistic. If you have not seen the home, then how can you tell if they are realistic? You mention that 2 of the photos are very different to the other 5 photos, which I agree is a bit strange - however i’m sure there is an explanation. Perhaps some were taken more recently than the others. The best thing to do in most situations with HomeExchange is to communicate fully with your host. I’m sure they are aware that their photos are not consistant, perhaps it is something that they have been meaning to change for a little while but haven’t got around to doing yet (we all know what that to-do list can be like! )

Hi Melissa!
Thank you for the reply. I agree that pictures may not reveal the real beauty of the house. However the ones I’m talking about look like they’ve been made in 3d planner, not even by AI.

Is that right that you suggest checking with the owner or asking for a more up to date pictures?

hmm maybe it’s a newbuild and these were the architect drawings…i’d recommend asking the host

Does this member have reviews?
Is it a new member?

Hi Nathalie! Thank you for the comment.
There was one exchange but no reviews.
I didn’t move on with the exchange, so I guess my question is not relevant anymore.
UPD I just checked and the host updated the photos with the realistic ones. So all good!
