Reverse Search for reciprocal exchange also by province, region, and country, not only by city

Hi,

It would be really useful to expand the REVERSE research of reciprocal exchanges to larger areas than just a city.
This would boost exchanges and would help a lot who lives outside of big cities.

Thanks for voting it

This can be done on the website. Just search for the city and when you get the results, widen the area. You will then get the homes in that area. In the part where it says where you’re looking for, it literally says “selected area”.

Sorry, I didn´t write ¨reverse¨ search, this is what I meant.

I am looking for someone in Barcelona that wants to go to my region in Italy, but not to a specific town. So that we can do a reciprocal exchange.

We totally agree. When a guest is searching for a host place to visit, it is possible to specify a geographic area by country, state/province/region, or city/town. It is also possible to search based on a map.

However, the reverse-search is not capable of the same flexibility. When a host is searching for guests who have indicated a preference for specific geographic areas, the feature ONLY works at the country or city/town level. It does not work for finding guests who are searching for a place by state/province/region. For example, my home is in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. It is possible for a member to put “New Brunswick, Canada” as a preferred destination. However, as a host, I cannot reverse-search for members who have indicated this preference.

This flaw does not make sense, because if it is possible for a guest to search for homes in a certain state or province and receive an accurate and complete list of homes; it makes no sense that the opposite cannot be done… which is a host searching for guests who want to come to a certain state or province in a country.

Correcting this flaw would be a huge benefit for hosts who are searching for guests who wish to come to their home.

I agree too!
I’m often looking for people wanting to come to Montreal. The reverse research works very well with the city, but if I reverse research “Quebec, Canada”, the results are completely random and show homes who didn’t put Quebec or Montreal or anywhere close in their preferred destinations :frowning:
