New York City apartment open for guest point long term exchange January-February. Minimum 3 weeks.
A wonderful opportunity for a luck couple
Thank you for sharing.
I was a bit surprised to see that your apartment receives 311GP, itโs seems to me such a high number of GuestPoints for just 2 people, especially since I recently stayed in another place very close to yours. Out of curiosity, I took a closer look at your listing and noticed that amenities like the gym, sauna, swimming pool, cleaning staff, and washing machine are included, but then you explain that the people that stay in your home has to pay for all those services. So it doesnโt seem very consistent to me, as indicating that you offer these services has clearly increased the number of GuestPoints you receive quite significantly.
I believe that, in this case, if you list these amenities, you should be the ones covering the cost. For example, in the home I stayed at, they also had a pay-as-you-go washing machine, but the hosts left a pre-paid laundry card for us to use free of charge โ just like when people stay in my home, they use my washing machine without paying.
Similarly, saying you have cleaning staff โ which adds a lot of GuestPoints to a listing โ but then charging guests for it, seems unfair to me. And the same about the rest of facilities that you donโt offer for free. Thatโs just my opinion, I donโt know what @Melissa.homeexchangeโs thoughts are on the matter.
This member is part of the Collection, due to their premium location and/or finish and decor these homes can request a higher GuestPoint amount.
Aside from the fact that being part of the Colection can increase the number of GuestPoints, is it actually allowed to charge for all these services? As far as I understand, according to HomeExchange rules, only the cleaning fee can be charged โ and even then, if you mention you have cleaning staff to increase your GP, it shouldnโt be something guests have to pay for separately.
From what I know, youโre also not supposed to list amenities like a swimming pool, gym, or sauna and then charge extra for them, or for using the washing machine or dryer.
Or is it that premium members are allowed to charge for anything they have in their home?
