Hello!
We are a French family of five living in Lyon, France, and we are starting to plan a long-term home exchange project from September 2027.
The project would mainly involve my partner and our three children spending several months in Dublin, potentially up to a full school year (2027/2028), while I would remain mainly in Lyon for work. I would of course join them for some periods, particularly during school holidays and at the beginning or end of the stay.
Our main goal is to give our children the opportunity to experience everyday life in an English-speaking country, discover Irish culture and, if possible, attend a local school during their stay.
My partner would also be interested in finding a small job during the stay, ideally in a nursery, childcare or Montessori environment.
We live in a comfortable and modern 3-bedroom apartment in Lyon 7, in a quiet neighbourhood close to public transport and Lyon city centre. Part-Dieu train station is easily accessible, and our home is also a great base for exploring the Alps and Annecy.
We are open to discussing different arrangements, including a reciprocal exchange or another arrangement that could work for both families.
We are still at the planning stage, so we would especially love to connect with an Irish family who might be interested in a similar experience and discuss what could be possible.
