Looking for our first exchange/visitors

Hi we are Carol and Rob and we are looking for our first exchange. We are heading to Europe at the end of March until September. We are travelling from South Australia to see our family in the UK and having some time holidaying across into Europe.

Everyone seems to want to visit Australia November until March. So I thought Iโ€™d let you know the best time to visit South Australia is definitely March, April and into May. November and December can still be a bit iffy with weather and January and February can sometimes be too hot to be able to do anything, getting days of over 40ยฐ

Whatโ€™s the vibe living in Golden Acre? Very laid back! Itโ€™s probably best described as contemporary country living. The house is of grand proportions, yet still feels cosy and homely. The block of land we sit on like most in our locality has plenty of room to roam. On one side is a small hobby farm with goats, to the other a similar property to our own. Because we back on to the river, there is abundant bird life such as ducks, swamp hens, galahs, wagtails, blue fairy hens, cockatoos and lots more. Itโ€™s a rarity, but not unknown, to see a kangaroo bouncing across the lawn early on a Sunday morning, or a koala peeking through the alfresco doors late at night. We live 5 minutes outside the heritage country town of Strathalbyn with its beautiful central river park setting, ideal for an easy picnic, the motor and heritage museums, multiple antique shops and a fantastic outdoor swimming pool. Langhorne Creek, one of the most prolific and understated wine regions in Australia, is a short 10 minutes drive from our home and has not only world class wines and cellar doors, but amazing quality cuisine such as at Lake Breeze Winery and at The Winehouse. Day tripping is perfect from Golden Acre with a vast range of clean sandy beaches across the Fleurieu Peninsula from those sweeping miles to intimate coves. There are more cellar doors and restaurants of every size, shape and setting you could imagine across the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley, all within easy day excursions. Thereโ€™s so much variety, you could be forgiven for not wanting to leave! If the attractions of one of the worldโ€™s most liveable cities appeals, then itโ€™s a leisurely and scenic hours drive from Adelaide, consistently voted as one of the best.

Will you be our first exchange/visitors? We are happy with GP too. This year we are visiting UK and Europe April to September.
