Home in Ukraine

Hi everyone!

I’m a newcomer to HomeExchange and have just recently discovered this wonderful community. I’m curious to get your perspective on something: does it make sense to offer my home here, considering that I’m based in Ukraine?

My home is located in one of the safest regions of the country. However, the reality is that air raid sirens still go off occasionally. I completely understand that for guests from other countries, this might be stressful or even frightening.

Despite the situation, I truly love my home and my city, and I would be thrilled to share them with people from all over the world. I would deeply appreciate any advice, thoughts, or similar experiences you might share.

Thank you! :white_heart:

Welcome to this Forum and to the HomeExchange community  Thank you so much for your post, and whilst it saddens me to read of your situation with regards to air raid sirens, I’m so glad that you have decided to try HomeExchange and this community. There are a number of members on this platform from Ukraine and it looks like some are actively exchanging homes. As you have said, there are areas of your beautiful country that are arguably safer than others. All I can suggest is that you give it a try and see how you get on  Don’t forget there may also be demand from other members in Ukraine who are looking to travel within the country too. Due to the ability to used GuestPoints, it doesn’t have to be a simultaneous exchange.

Hello and welcome @Mariia !

I’m very sorry for what you and your country must endure. I want to share that we are many that have you in our minds and hearts and try to make a little difference. Actually, in my town they are preparing a trip to Ukraine the coming weekend with gifts of ambulances and vehicles, and earlier this evening they had a rally of donations of warm winter clothing to fill the cars with. They also collected money for gas, which I contributed to.

I’m sure there could be interest for housing in Ukraine. Ukrainians going home from other destinations as well as local travel in Ukraine, and it could be people travelling to contribute, going for work or other etc. I sometimes consider adding a home exchange when I’m on a work trip - like first a couple of days work and then stay on a couple of days taking time off. So it could be several options. So give it a go.

Welcome and safe travel!

Welcome Mariia on the forum.

My opinion is that you can list your home in Ukraine.
You may not have “touristic” requests but some people may be interested in your home for family or professional reasons.

On Homeexchange, you can list as many listings as you like.
And it is positive to show that people can go there in spite of the situation.

There are listings in countries considered as unsafe (not for war reasons but for traffic or poverty reasons). And there are exchanges done anyway.
