I will be traveling Feb 21-March 10 so I’m opening up my house for Guestpoints exchange.
The house is in the Lower Garden District, right by Coliseum Square Park. It started as my primary residence, so it’s very much a lived-in home rather than a typical rental. There’s a large sunroom filled with morning light (and a dedicated work-from-home desk), a big front porch where you can sometimes hear park jazz or catch a second line passing by, and a spacious, dog-friendly backyard with a fig tree that produces fresh fruit in season.
It’s historic in character, with cove ceilings and original doors and windows, but fully updated with modern comforts: strong Wi-Fi throughout, an updated kitchen, and an on-demand water heater. It’s also not a shotgun house, the layout is open, with independent bedrooms that offer privacy.
Magazine Street is half a block away for restaurants and shops, the St. Charles streetcar is one block away, and the neighborhood is lush, walkable, and very safe.
