Hackney flat available weekend May 16-19

I’m doing this for guest points. Look at my profile if interested Victoria's house in Hackney

You need to post your HomeExchange listing, or at least the number for people to see what you’re offering and possibly contact you. You should also post it in the category ’ community / boost your search.

Thanks. I wish this app was better designed..

For instance I have no idea if my post is only visible to the English forum in which case it’s pointless

It’s not an app, it’s a forum, and yes each language is independant. If you want to post it into French forum for example, you have to Make a New post in French forum, translate it to French and post

Hi, there are only 4 days open for exchange on your calendar and they’re in green. If your looking for guests exchanging with guestpoints you need to put your available dates in blue.
You can also join the official fb groups and post your search there.

I’m using the forum in the app. That sounds very cumbersome - to have to manually post in 200 different countries’ forums

Facebook!

And also, how? There is a HomeExchange page but no means to post to it. No advertising board as it were

I think there’s some confusion. There’s the Homeexchange site, which obviously you’re subscribed to , as you’ve already exchanged. The main way to look for exchanges as a host is to complete your calendar with your available dates and to wait for members who are interested in staying at your home to contact you. Likewise if you are looking for an exchange as a guest you use the search filters to find a host. There is no advertising board as the site itself with the calendars are the ’ advertising board’ themselves.
You also have a forum in English, French , Spanish and Italian which is a Homeexchange community in which you can also post your search ( each forum is separate, you can post in each of them). No one suggested that there were 200 different forums.
Tbere are 3 official facebook groups reserved for subscribed members ( English, French and Spanish ) where the HE community can interact and also post your searches. This was suggested to you but I don’t know what your exclamation is meant to mean.

Well it’s that Facebook is so old school. But also I can’t post on the fb official HE page and I don’t see one that’s obviously for people like me who want to flag up something that is sought after namely a flat in central london for guest points for a weekend. The fact is, the app could be a whole world better but it needs a proper overhaul to improve algorithms, matching of users etc. I’m not the only person who thinks so, but there seems to be this fierce denial among ‘ambassadors’ that it is not the best platform in the world.

If your calender is in blue and in a sought after area interested members will find it through the site( there is a last minute filter for those looking for last minute exchanges). A weekend is only 2 nights for many people and you have a 3 night minimum, so that may be a problem for many people.
The app is being constantly updated and improved. It seems pretty normal that Ambassadors would defend the platform, but of course every one is entitled to their opinion.

Yes indeed facebook is oldschool, But the groups are too, they were created between 10 and 15 years ago, it’s not new at all. It’s still the main social media to interact with groups of several dozens of thousands people easily and the most common used by HE members ( who are generally between 25 and 75). Youngers may use other apps like Snapchat etc, but they don’t exchange.

This forum was created for those who don’t want to use Facebook and it’s another possible channel which grows every day.

And yes of course we know the site could have some improvments, we as volunteers, never said it’s the best in the world, but we help it so love it ( with its imperfections, like all things  ).

HE is a small company, only 20 people work for tech staff ( 1500 on Airbnb for example if you don’t know it), so of course they Can act faster etc.
Have a nice day
Friendly
