GP Bonus For New Members

I am a little confused about the bonus Guest Points available to new members of the community. Over the years, we have described the benefits of HE to friends and relatives and urged them to join. Some have created accounts but not completed their home listing or paid a membership fee.

My understanding of the new member GP bonus is as follows:

50 points received when creating a new account
750 points received when fully completing the home listing information
500 points received when paying the annual membership fee for the first time (250 points for renewing a membership)

Total available to new members = 1300 GPs

But how does the “3 month” time limit work?

If one of my friends created their account 2 years ago, but has never fully completed their home information or paid their fee, how many points do they get if tomorrow they complete all of their home information and pay the $220 annual fee?

So they receive only 550 points or 1300 points or something else?

This is not my understanding of the 3 months rule.
When you create your account and your house, you get 800GP. You then have 3 months to pay for your membership or these 800GP expire. As soon as you pay your first membership, your 800GP are secured and will never expire.

This is explained well in the HomeExchange Day presentation (better than in the FAQ in my opinion :see_no_evil_monkey: ) :
