I am new to Home Exchange. Can someone help me with the following two questions please?
Am I trying to find the impossible? I am looking for somewhere with a minimum of 5 bedrooms that will accommodate ten adults, with a pool and coastal location if possible, anytime mid August to mid September. Warm climate, ideally not more than four hour flight from UK as one of the party is in her eighties (grandma) :). I am finding these larger properties tend to be further afield (Mexico, USA, Austrailia) and any that are closer to home tend to be booked out as holiday homes - am I wasting my time?
I have used a reverse search, which was fine to fill another slot which we had available for our home - it worked really well. Is there an option to just put the location of your home and some sort of search that will bring up anyone from any country that is interested in visiting where you live? In our case Devon.

What you’re looking for isn’t impossible, but it certainly isn’t the most usual search on the site.
5 bedrooms is a large house in European standards , with a pool and near the coast is even more difficult! Much may depend on whether your looking for a points exchange or a reciprocal exchange. If it’s for points the fact that you’re new on the site and wish to travel with a large group without having experience and reviews as both a host and guest makes your search more difficult. If you’re looking for a reciprocal exchange it may depend on what you’re offering yourself. Do you have a large home with pool on the coast? If it’s the case you may have more luck by joining the HomeExchange Collection site which has larger more luxurious homes.
For your second question you need to use the reverse sesrch. Put ’ any destination ’ in the search bar, then your home town in the reverse search. It seems you’ve tried reverse search though, so I’m notcdue what you mean. You can also do a classic search with ’ anywhere in the world ’ in the search bar.
Nothings ever impossible on HE, some searches are just more difficult than others. Flexibility of dates and destination are the main things for finding an exchange, and a pinch of being realistic in what you’re looking for .
