I’ve come across this situation quite a few times, especially with large houses outside Europoe. In their listings, they include “cleaning staff” as one of the unique facilities, but when you actually read the details, you find out that cleaning is charged separately, sometimes at really high rates.
Honestly, it doesn’t seem fair that hosts get extra GP for listing cleaning staff as a unique facility and then also charge guests for it. I’d like to believe it’s not intentional, but rather a misunderstanding; maybe it’s not clearly explained when creating a listing that if you mark “cleaning staff” as available, it should mean the service is included, not an extra paid option?

I have checked with our product team and I confirm that selecting the option of “cleaning staff” does not increase the number of GPs for a members home.

Thanks Melissa! it’s good to know! I think it would be good then to clarify what the personal cleaning icon means — that is, what is supposed to be offered when it’s selected.

Good point!
I hope HE will clarify this tag.
I have checked this with the happiness team and it should mean that there is a cleaning person available (without cost) to clean during or after the Exchange. Similar to tour guide for instance.
Thank you Melissa for the information.
As far as i am concerned, i won’t check this box.
I do have a cleaner who come to prepare the beds for the next guest.
Cleaner paid by me and not by my guest.
If this box is checked, some people may think that they are not obliged to clean when they leave and let a dirty house.
By logic, this box should be used for a paying cleaning fee. So people who don’t want to clean could put it in the search criteria. It would be similar to hotel room where the cleaner is included.
