There is no easy poll to look at and itās not widely published by HE. I would be guided by a poll if it was issued by mail shot to ALL members.

It would be useful for those who want to use it. Those who donāt shouldnāt have to. This website/app needs improving desperately - there must be so many potential exchanges that would suit both parties which cannot be made because there is so much left to luck

Actually itās a bit misleading to compare the number 8000 with 12.
As everyone can see, this request of Calendar Syncing is ranking as number 4 = the fourth most voted feature request.
In the suggesting box page there are only two threads that exceed 23 votes.
So 12 is still a high number considering all the other threads.

Honestly I didnāt checked all the other threads. But I Can assure you that itās not a lot compared to some features asked for a very long time on Facebook . Anyway donāt hesitate to vote for it if you are interested to have it in the future.
the list I posted is the full list of all the feature requests ranked by votes (not views or replies). Calendar sync is at place four.

Ok. So yes there are features which are more requested , as I said in the first place, and which are not available yet too, like the favorites. The site has a long to do list of course
+1.
Iām also in favor of implementing this feature, it would save a lot of time and hassle for users offering their homes on other platforms.

Etienne. If you want to increase inventory on HomeExchange, you must support iCAL at a minimum.. I would add way more inventory if it was sync with my channel manager. Christophe.

I canāt see where to vote for it.
Itās the thing that I find most difficult with HE. Not being able to see whoās coming when or requesting when etc etc.
Itās so time consuming going through each message to check if it was them, or this one, or that one, let alone if they have a similar name.
It probably worked well 15 years ago when there were fewer members but now itās redundant.
If youāre going to multiple places in one trip itās a nightmare trying to coordinate it.
Having a calendar that was interactive would be brilliant. There are more member who would like this, Iām sure, I only just found out people have been asking. I thought I must be missing something that I couldnāt see all my guest exchanges and bookings in one place.
When you think about it like that, it really does seem way behind the times.
Even on a wall calendar you can mark who and when someone is coming.
It doesnāt mean the communication is any less. It just makes the organisation much simpler and less time consuming.
Iāve spent an incredible number of hours trying to find suitable places to stay at the right times. Thatās time taken away from good communication with other hosts.
I think the idea of an interactive calendar should be floated to every member. As it is, youāve got to check your own calendar again when you get a request, to make sure it doesnāt overlap with something else youāve got on. There are a huge number of benefits to this.

How do we vote for this? I canāt find the polls, Iām sure others donāt know either. I think everyone should be sent an email to vote on it.
Itās so frustrating the way it is, not being able to see a calendar with all the information you need. Itās a nightmare going through many messages to try and find the one you want at a particular time.
Thereās not even the ability to have a calendar to put your requests, waiting, booked etc.

I think thatās a bit selfish of you. Sorry to say. You may be in between other guests anyway and not know. It doesnāt mean you canāt communicate with potential hosts, it just means you can see everything in one place. You donāt have to use it but obviously itās very frustrating for many.

Iām just giving my opinion, personnaly I find it easy, I just have a home, not several, doing just a few exchanges per year etc. Never use rental platforms etc.
You can vote for it just on top of this page, the button is there.
Yes Iāve voted but surely an ambassador would be promoting whatās best for everyone/many, rather than just yourself who isnāt juggling as much as others.

Yes and most members in my long experience are not interested. I moderate facebook groups for years and itās almost never asked. Proof here itās only 17 votes on 10000 members in this forum ( some features have way more). And 80% of members have only a primary home on HE so it concerns only a small part of members

Sure but first two ones are really more requested. So the staff will probably work on that first ( and itās requested for years on Facebook too).

I agree with what you are saying to some degree as I feel that some HE are just listing their rentals to fill in days they cant sell. I have personally contacted several HE that are listed elsewhere and have not had good responses, they have admitted that they will not allow a HE in peak season or usually busy times (even if it shows as available) and that of course is their choice because they can make money from their property during this time. The other most frustrating response that we receive is that they will let me know closer to the time if it doesnāt sell.Personally this is frustrating as you canāt plan and secondly I donāt feel rentals truly reflect the HE vision unless they are genuine about blocking out periods that are truly open to HE people. Therefor for this reason I usually steer away from those HE that are listed elsewhere for this reason.
However on the flip side, it would probably make it easier if the calendars were synchronized (definitely not checking more than 1 calendar) for those people who wish to explore homes that are listed elsewhere.
A good start would be to identify clearly if the home is listed elsewhere (not all secondary homes are rented!) ours for instance if solely for personal use and HE
